Business Development Manager , APEX Media Platform


The area: Cross-channel media sales – Print & online
This position is based in London, UK. Overseas travel will be required.

The role: Business Development Manager , APEX Media Platform
You’ll be developing and managing revenue and relationships with direct clients and agencies across a number of industries. You need to be a focused, proactive self-starter, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you’re an advisor and consultant, as well as a client advocate within Ink.

You’ll use your analytical skills to develop and close new business, grow existing business, and support clients with insights, market analysis and other collateral. Above all, you’ll be responsible for hitting your revenue targets.

This role will require you to spend 2-3 days per week working from home and managing APEX’S North American market place. You will be expected to work from 5pm-11.30pm. This is a key part of the role, and one that needs complete dedication.

You will report to the APEX Media Platform Group Sales Manager.

Responsibilities:
– To develop long-term strategic partnerships with industry clients
– To carefully build and maintain relationships with senior-level contacts to ensure their continued commitment to supporting APEX through advertising, membership and exhibiting at APEX and related events
– To develop new and existing leads and revenue channels and opportunities
– Take bookings, up-sell and manage your clients.
– Report on sales figures internally and take ownership of your vertical areas.
– Serve as a liaison with clients regarding new product launches and advertising opportunities.
– Analyse data trends and client performance, develop solid strategic sales plans, and prepare and conduct strategic pitches and sales presentations
– Educate advertisers and evangelise APEX (and all Ink-related activities), particularly at targeted events, conferences and media opportunities
– Achieve monthly sales targets across all media vehicles

Requirements:
– Fluent in English. Preference for multilingual staff
– Minimum 5 years Proven track record in advertising sales and media account management
– Excellent organizational, analytical and influencing skills.
– Ability to influence product development through interaction with relevant colleagues and peers
– A deep understanding of the industry’s issues, a vision for its growth, and a commitment to achieving Ink’s 3 year growth plan
– Experience of developing face-to-face commercial relationships
– Experience in and an understanding of commercial events
– Experience of meeting and exceeding revenue targets
– Entrepreneurial attitude
– Passionate about the Aviation industry
– Excellent command of both written and spoken English
– Excellent telephone manner and presentation abilities
– Experience of budgeting and reporting
– Experience of managing high-profile individuals
– Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
– Aviation media experience is preferred but not essential
