Metropolitan Magazine Wins Launch Of The Year 2011 At The BSME Awards

Ink, the  leaders in travel media connecting companies with travellers, is pleased to announce that Metropolitan Magazine has won the “Launch of the Year” at the 2011 British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) Awards. Published by Ink for Eurostar, Metropolitan is a monthly magazine that was launched in May 2010.

With a readership of over 600,000, Metropolitan is distributed on all Eurostar trains between London and Paris and London and Brussels, and is also available in the business lounges at each station. Offering big engaging reads, beautiful design and striking photography, Metropolitan is trilingual, with content in English, French and Flemish. The magazine eschews covering the same old travel-writing ground, seeking to reveal a different side to Eurostar’s destination cities with fresh stories and alternative perspectives. The tone is smart, sophisticated and cultured with a healthy dose of wit and humour in the mix.

“We are thrilled to have our work recognised by the rest of the industry, especially competing against newsstand publications,” said Metropolitan’s editor, Jane Wright. “Working with such a prestigious brand as Eurostar sets the bar very high for producing original, engaging and thought-provoking content. We have been delighted with the reaction from Eurostar, its passengers and our peers.”
